but I never had a crave to smoke stronger then my desire to not smoke
I have read in the past week or so folks saying...they have read on this forum of people well into there quit saying , things like .. "out of know where I wanted a cigarette".. or, "All this time and I still think of smoking.. well to those newer quits who read this, there is some truth to it.. but it is not as black and white as it reads.
When your first quit and you say “you want a cigarette” this is not completely true . or you would be smoking.. but for the sake of this lets assign a number to this desire to smoke,, and we’ll give it a 9. 1 threw 10 of wanting to smoke this crave registers a 9 .. Now when someone has say been quit say 6 months .and they post or say “ I want a cigarette” this on that same scale as before would register as a 2.. Basically Nothing compared to how you feel. It dose get better, It would be the same maybe as the new quit is bee stung for a smoke and the longer you quit the urge to smoke is a misquote bite..and from there its just from time to time an annoying buzz that you simple swat away.
But for the record: No I do not want a cigarette !! or have any inclination to ever have another,, I just wanted to name this thread “ I want a cigarette”
And my point to repeat myself.. wanting a cigarette on day two of a quit is not equal to wanting a cigarette on day 180..so as true as both statements may be they mean completely different things
And have completely different effects on ones out look toward there next day in quitting .
And if I had a thought for the day it would be

As long as you keep your desire to not smoke, stronger then your craves to smoke
the scales of freedom will remain tipped in your favor
