And its not really about no longer smoking
For years most all that will read this have smoked hundreds if not thousands upon thousands of cigarettes. The last one smoked was put out much the same way as all the ones that fell before. Experts we are at putting out cigarettes, where we lack experience is living our lifes without lighting them.
To quit smoking is not about never lighting another cigarette or never to take another puff. If it were that simple , there would be no forums , no NRT’s , no books , no nothings In fact there would not even be cigarette manufactures , because no one would even be smoking . Except for the teen age boys with roll your owns hiding be hind the corn crib or in back of the high school.
To quit smoking is a action that is done by never lighting another cigarette. But this action only leads to the process of ones mind and body adjusting to life with out the influence of nicotine.
The quitter has to do nothing but the action ,the body will take care of the rest its only when the quitter gets involved that things get screwed up. People want to quit smoking
But at the same time not to willing or wanting to except change , that is when things get tough. I read and read , I had a bad day , I want to scream , I need help. If they would only stop for a miniute and realize everything is going perfectly according to a plan on the process of healing. One has a choice. To dwell on the symptoms of recovery or to celebrate and rejoice in them. Both smokers and ex smokers are going to get cravings
The difference being the smoker is killing themselves to appease them while the quitter is
denying them to live. Both will have triggers to smoke , the smoker lights with out a second thought , the quitter has this opportunity to appreciate there quit.
Craves and triggers are nothing new, only the responses given. That is the difference in being a non smoker and a smoker
To be a non smoker is nothing more then the change from being a smoker. Its not about not smoking itself or smoking. It is becoming a different person, ones who’s life is not controlled and revolved around the amount of nicotine in your blood stream.
To think on your own, to sleep on your own to react in a mood not based on
The last time you smoked or the length of time you have to wait for your next fix.
If you never smoke, never again put nicotine into your system . In time your body will heal , smoking itself will become a distance faded memory. There is nothing you can read no pill or patch can speed the process of mother nature. To find fault or complain about the process is really just a waist of time that dose nothing but leaves disappointment
Rather be grateful for every mood swing , every crave , every trigger denied, be grateful
for every minute that you are becoming the person you set out to be when you put out that last cigarette.
To quit smoking is only to change, to evolve, to live. Every moment may not be roses or rainbows, but that is life
